NETA Offers Flexible Training Options for All Technicians
Portage, MI (PRWEB) June 17, 2013
NETA, the InterNational Electrical Testing Association, announces flexible training options for technicians seeking continuing education in their field. In many cases, the options are easily accessible and offer go-at-your-own-pace flexibility.
The first option, Electrical Safety Training System (ESTS), focuses on arc-flash and shock training and is available in both US and Canadian formats. The program is state-of-the-art, and is targeted toward electrical workers, supervisors, electrical engineers, instrumentation mechanics, HVAC technicians, HSE professionals, and other workers who may be exposed to the electrical hazards of arc-flash.
ESTS offers NETA Certified Technicians eight possible NETA CTD credits. See more information about ESTS at http://www.netatraining.org.
The second option, NETA Self-Paced Technical Seminars (SPTS), are training materials created for distance learning on a wide variety of topics. Eight SPTS courses are now available, taken directly from PowerTest in-depth seminars selected by the conference committee each year. The seminars are recorded and produced into a SPTS. Some SPTS examples include Power Transformer Testing and Maintenance and Critical Maintenance for Circuit Breakers.
See a complete list of available SPTS at http://www.netaworld.org/training. NETA Certified Technicians can be eligible for four NETA CTD credits after satisfactory completion of the SPTS proficiency exam.
The third option, NETA's Online Training Courses, cover specific sections of the ANSI/NETA Standard for Acceptance Testing Specifications for Electrical Power Equipment and Systems (ANSI/NETA ATS-2013). The intent is to assist the field service technician in understanding and acquiring the knowledge to properly test, assess, and validate various systems and electrical power equipment as required by the ANSI/NETA ATS.
NETA Certified Technicians are eligible for as many as 16 NETA CTD Credits upon successful completion of the proficiency exam, depending on which online training course chosen. See more information at http://www.netaworld.org/training.
